1950 Marx Mechanical Yellow Taxi Cab in Original Box
Superb near mint example of the classic Marx Mechanical Yellow Taxi Cab complete with original box. The box grades excellent+, it's solid, square and complete. All tin litho with solid rubber tires powered by wind-up clockwork motor. Detailed lithography shows occupants from the exterior in all windows in their correct interior positions. For example the driver is shown with the back of his head looking left from the perspective of the passenger door, while from the front windshield he's shown with right side of his face, and looking into the driver's side window you can see the front of his face. That's not easy to do! The box was illustrated on all panels with an excellent representation of the actual car. Beautiful, simple, imaginative..with wonderful color throughout. They don't make them like this any more! Size: 11".
